This is me this afternoon in my office after our advertising lecture. The chocolate called to me. Advertising seriously works.... Also, Cadbury's chocolate is FAR superior than Hershey's. Just in case you were wondering.

Haha! A couple weeks ago my husband was watching football and there were a ton of commercials for Dr. Pepper. A few days later, we got pizza for dinner and he found a code for a free 2 liter soda with it. He knows I love Dr. Pepper, so he offered to get that, but I've been trying to cut down my sugar so I said I didn't want to have a whole two liter of my favorite soda in our house. lol. He seemed really adamant about getting Dr. Pepper, even when I said I didn't want it, and when I asked, he said "ever since I saw all those ads for Dr. Pepper last week during the football game, I've been craving Dr. Pepper! Those commercials really work!" I giggled as I thought about our advertising lecture and how the advertisers had snagged my husband on this too!
ReplyDeleteThis happened to my roommate the other day. She was scrolling through Twitter and an ad for Reese's came up and she just said "you win, I will eat a Reese's" and walked out to our candy bowl in the living room. I think it is so crazy how well they can get us, but especially when it is something we already know we like and trust. And I think it is funny how even when we know what they are trying to do we still give in!
